Course Description

The course spans over a variety of areas of computer science as it shall establish a knowledge layer for students on the top of which other core courses depend. This course focuses on a breadth-first coverage of computer science discipline, introducing computing environments, basic computing hardware and peripheral devices, general application software, system software, networks, Internet, computer usage concepts; within the broader domain of computing.

Course Objectives

• To teach students the fundamentals of computing
• To equip students with tools e.g. MS-Word, MS-PowerPoint, MS-Excel.

Learning Outcomes

• Students will be able to use tools efficiently.
• Students will become aware of commonly used software in real-world applications.
